Events

The Branch, through its Professional and Educational Development Committee, schedules presentations, tours, workshops, and socials that are intended for both its membership and the general public.

Presentations

 
  • The Branch tries to schedule between six and eight invited speaker presentations a year. Audience sizes typically range from 35 to 125 people!

  • An attempt is made to arrange that each fall on the third Tuesday of a month. There are occasional exceptions, so it is wise to read each of the program announcements carefully.

  • Location - Held in the Parish Hall (South entrance of building) of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 2898 S. 48th St., Springdale, AR (i.e., the church with the three wind turbines between it and I-540.

  • Time - Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for an hour-long presentation that usually starts around 11:50 a.m.

  • Admission W/Lunch - USGBC Western Branch Arkansas Chapter members who did not prepay for the monthly lunch meetings (Deadline December 20, 2008): $15. For non-Branch members: $20. Students with current student ID: $10. Cash or check only please. The branch strives to use caterers that are both local and operating in more environmentally friendly fashion.

  • Admission W/O Lunch: USGBC Western Branch Arkansas Chapter members: $5. For non-Branch members: $10. Students with current student ID: FREE. Cash or check only please.

  • RSVP'ing - It is necessary to indicate your intent to attend and whether or not you would like lunch. RSVP'ing may be accomplished by sending an email to our branch chapter's management agency at info@usgbcar.org. Cancellations are accepted up to 9:00 a.m. of the day previous to the presentation. After that time invoicing for the full admission cost will occur. Sorry. No lunches are available for late RSVP'ers.

Tours

 
  • The Branch, in cooperation with the local Emerging Green Builders group, tries to schedule one or two tours a year. Like the presentations mentioned above tours are open to both branch membership and the general public.

Workshops

 
  • The Branch, in cooperation with the Arkansas Chapter, tries to arrange one or two LEED Technical Review workshops a year. Like the presentations and tours mentioned above workshops are open to both branch membership and the general public.
